Ahh...technology, political candidates, and scripting?? no...who would do that?

On Friday, Sept. 21st, Presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani interrupted his speech for the National Rifle Association to take a phone call from his wife. On his cell phone.

This isn't the first time Giuliani has answered a phone call while on the campaign trail.

But don't worry--the calls are were NOT planned! (in case you had the time to actually wonder about that)

The AP reports that Giuliani took the call lightly, even joking to his wife and asking her if she wanted to say hi to the 500 members of the NRA.

Apparently, she did not. But the attendees at the speech thought it was funny.

I don't care if it was an unscripted moment. If you are at a speech, giving a speech, and especially if you are a Presidential hopeful, turn your phone off! Nobody wants to hear what your wife is doing, or how much you love her (which is nice to know, seriously)... the members of the NRA just wanted to hear what he had to say about gun control.

Geez.

(by the way, CBS News is reporting that Giuliani's people wouldn't say whether or not the call was scripted. But Mitt Romney thinks it was...I wonder how Mitt Romney got into a story about Giuliani, his cell phone, and the NRA...interesting...)

Are you sure the phone call was unplanned? I agree with you that when giving a speech you turn off your cell phone. Surely with all the people surrounding Giuliani someone could have reminded him to turn off his phone.
